Bridge to success continues to serve those in need and the most vurnerable segments in our community during this time through our various programs. We are taking precautions to ensure maximum protection of our staff, volunteers and beneficiaries.
Our Mission
Partners Empowering Youth, from Cradle to Career
BTS is a cross-sector partnership of over 90 community and civic leaders, educators, and organizations. We work collectively to achieve equitable change by empowering Waterbury’s children, youth, and families, to be successful in school, career, and life.
Our Story
Youth-serving organizations have a long history in Waterbury, delivering quality programming for a range of needs through collaboration. In 2010, Bridge to Success (BTS) Community Partnership, was established as the state’s first cradle to career youth initiative. Ever since Waterbury partners have come together to create common goals and strategies while seeking input and participation from parents and students themselves. At BTS we believe that by working as a team, we can support Waterbury’s youth.
To empower children, youth, and families, BTS focuses on four domains:
- Early Childhood and Education — promoting kindergarten readiness.
- Third-grade reading — promoting early literacy development and reducing summer learning loss
- High school graduation — addressing youth’s development assets and reducing absenteeism
- Career and college readiness — focusing on youth financial, occupational, and educational development.

BTS is a member of the nationally acclaimed Strive Together Cradle to Career Network.
Strive is a national network of 64 community partnerships in 32 states and Washington D.C.working to improve educational success for every child. Together with its partners, Strive impacts over 8.2 students nationwide. In 2014, Waterbury was the first Cradle to Career network in Connecticut to obtain their “Sustaining” status.

BTS is a small backbone organization that supports the work of all our partners. We have a big mission, but a small staff. In our office on 100 N. Elm Street in Waterbury you are bound to run into one of the below friendly faces:
